The following was completed week commencing Mon 9th August:
Greens sprayed with fungicide.
Greens watered nightly and high areas were hand lanced.
Greens and tees were fertilised.
Changed the height of cut on greens mower from 3.1mm to 3.5mm on Sunday morning to allow increase in photosynthesis etc during drought.
Cut back rough in front of ladies 5th and 17th holes.
Cut back and “top” meadow on left of 2nd hole.
All roughs were double cut and where necessary blown to remove grass clippings.
Prepare for charity day and official opening of redeveloped course.
Subject to weather the following will be undertaken this week:
Greens will be aerated with mini solid tines.
All weaker areas of greens will be over seeded.
Following aeration and seeding, greens will be rolled using the greens iron.
Greens will be sprayed with wetting agent to reduce stress, caused by the recent drought.
Also the wetting agent will assist\increase seed germination.
All greens will be verti-cut and lightly sanded.
The hollow coring of our greens is planned to commence on Thursday 26th of August and will be completed the following week.
